Mission Statement

UNISTAR was created by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1985 to meet an increasing demand for short-term, highly specialized volunteer advisory services to the private and public sectors of developing countries. Since then, leading international experts and managers have put their expertise to the service of countries in development to help companies and organizations solve many of the problems, which hinder enterprises. In 1993, UNV took over the administration of UNISTAR activities. To rapidly respond to requests for advisory services, UNV maintains a resource bank of human resources offering a broad range of business and technical skills, in particular general management, marketing, strategic planning, industrial design, product development, manufacturing and finance.
