Service projects run 1 to 2 weeks, and occasionaly up to 4 weeks.
Applicants aged 18 to 30 are accepted. They do not need to be a member of any particular relition, but should have an interest in World Religions.
There is no program fee, but participants pay a modest fee (typically $200 for 2 weeks) and cover their transportation costs.

The application process begins with a survey on the
RYS web site.
History: RYS began international projects in 1986.
Field Projects executed: 11 in 2001.
Advisors sent on field projects: 550 in 2001.
Religious Youth Services currently has projects in 10 countries in 5 Regions (Africa: 3, Asia: 2, Central America: 2, South America: 1, Western Europe: 2)
